Home Small Groups in Lafayette, Louisville, Erie, Broomfield and Boulder

Sunday morning is a great place to hear a message and worship with a crowd. It is a hard place to really get to know someone. If you are new to the Boulder County area, or have been here a while and still feel like you are on the edge of things, a small group is where that usually changes.

At Catch The Fire Boulder, our small groups meet in homes across Lafayette, Louisville, Erie, Broomfield and Boulder. Here is how they work.

What is a small group?

Our small groups page puts it this way: it is where "big church becomes personal." A group is a handful of people from your part of Boulder County who meet during the week to be known, to grow and to encounter God in the context of real relationships.

Groups meet in homes, not at the church building. That keeps them close to where you live and makes it easier to show up.

What happens at a meeting?

Each group follows a simple rhythm: pursuing Jesus, building family and walking out faith together. In practice, meetings include three things.

Studying the Word. Groups open the Bible together and talk about what it says and what it means for real life.

Praying for one another. This is where prayer gets personal. People bring what they are actually dealing with, and the group prays.

Sharing a meal. Food is part of how people go from strangers to friends. It is hard to stay guarded over a shared dinner.

What do people get out of it?

The language we use on our site is that groups help people strengthen their identity, cultivate freedom, and make discipleship a way of life. In plain terms, groups are where faith stops being something you do for an hour on Sunday and becomes part of ordinary weeks.

This ties directly to our vision. One of our values is that every believer is called to freedom, identity, wholeness and healing through the Father's love, and community is where much of that actually happens. You can read the rest on our vision page.

Do I need to be a regular on Sundays first?

You do not need to have a long history with us. Many people find a group before they find a regular seat on Sunday. That said, if you want to see what we are like first, our Plan Your Visit page walks through what a Sunday looks like.
